Competitive from a young age, Mark was a talented soccer player for Sydney’s Blacktown United Soccer Team before he won the local shopping centre raffle for a dirt bike, launching him into 80cc motorbike racing. He progressed to kart racing shortly after and from this point on it has been nothing short of a meteoric rise to the very top levels of his sport.
Mark was signed up by Ford’s factory-supported V8 Supercar team, Ford Performance Racing (FPR) in 2006. Since then he has never finished outside the top five in the Championship, with the highlight being his second placing in 2008.
Mark has gained 24 pole positions (already placing him amongst the greats of the sport), 20 race wins and 56 podium finishes during this time and in 2012, became the first Australian athlete to voice a character in a Disney Pixar movie in the cameo role of Frosty the Australian Racing Car in the blockbuster sequel CARS2.
Mark is based in Melbourne, married to Renee and father to Oliver. He is committed to promoting enhanced road safety at every opportunity and is involved in numerous national awareness campaigns for Monroe, Fatality Free Friday and V8 Supercars in this capacity.
